Original antique publishing house advertising poster for Verlag der Schillerbuchhandlung Berlin books - Das billige qualitatsbuch Jeder band Mk 1,75 Die bunten romane / The affordable quality book Each 1.75 Mark The colourful novels - featuring an elegant red haired lady in a blue dress sitting on the floor against a large cushion and holding up a book with the covers of three literary classics below - A Picture of Dorian Gray (first published in 1890) by the notable Irish author, poet and playwright Oscar Wilde (1854-1900) featuring a person looking out to the viewer, and two books by the notable French novelist Gustave Flaubert (1821-1880): Salammbo (first published in 1862) featuring a snake wrapped around a naked lady, and Madame Bovary (first published in 1856) featuring a lady in a fashionable bonnet style hat. Very good condition, creasing, small tears. Country of issue: Germany, designer: L. Zabel, size (cm): 66.5x45, year of printing: 1920s.
