Sport Poster Levis Moscow 1980 Olympic Games North America Slalom Ski Jumping. Original vintage sport poster published by the Levi Strauss clothing brand (founded 1853) for the 1980 Moscow Olympic Games featuring dynamic artwork depicting a skier in red, white and blue skiing at speed with the white spray of snow lit up over the map of North America highlighted on a globe above small silhouettes of a ski jumper leading to a skier with arms outstretched to wings, the Levi's logo and stylised title text in the margin below. One of a series of six posters commissioned by the blue jeans manufacturer Levi's as official sponsors of the US team for the 1980 Olympic Games; this Levi's Olympic Opportunity Sweepstakes campaign emphasised a sport associated with each of the six continents competing in the event - Skiing (North America), Gymnastics (Asia), Swimming (Australia), Track & Field (Africa), Soccer (South America), Cycling (Europe) - but the posters were withdrawn following the decision by US President Carter to boycott the Olympics in protest after the USSR invaded Afghanistan in December 1979.
