Advertising Poster Cirque Pinder Jean Richard Circus Trapeze. Original vintage Jean Richard circus poster advertising a double flying trapeze act - Pour la 1ere fois en France Cirque Pinder Jean Richard Les Osler-Del-Cane au double trapeze volant - featuring a troupe of acrobats flying and turning somersaults through the air with a lady in a golden outfit jumping towards two performers swinging on ropes against a cloudy background, the colourful bold lettering above and below. The French actor and comedian Jean Richard (1921-2001) started his first circus in 1957, launching the successful Cirque Jean Richard in 1969 and buying the Cirque Pinder in 1971 to form the largest circus in France (sold in 1983). Formed in 1967, the Osler del Canes performed with Pinder-Jean Richard from 1974-1977; their group included the notable aerialist and triple-somersaulter Freddy Osler (Frederick Weppenaar). Horizontal. Good condition, folds, minor creasing, small tears. Country of issue: France, designer: unknown, size (cm): 43x56, year of printing: 1974.
