Advertising Poster Sony Walkman. Original vintage advertising poster for Sony Walkman Sports cassette player featuring a fun design depicting a swimming image of an orange and black flipper / fin wearing goggles with the foot forming the shape of a face listening to music with mohican style hair and a snorkel on the side, the earphones leading to the iconic yellow Sony Walkman Sports model against the blue background. Sony was founded in 1946 by the Japanese electronics industrialist Masaru Ibuka (1908-1997) and businessman Akio Morita (1921-1999) as Tokyo Tsushin Kogyo Ltd and renamed Sony Corporation in 1958; the company produced the first Walkman in 1979 and the first yellow waterproof Sports Walkman in 1985. Large size. Good condition, creasing, minor staining, tears on edges, printed on the reverse for use in light boxes.
