Advertising Poster GPO Herz Radio Set 1886 Eric Fraser. Original vintage advertising poster for the General Post Office (GPO) - Hertz's Radio Set 1886 - featuring a great illustration by Eric Fraser (1902-1983) of the German physicist Heinrich Rudolf Hertz (1857-1894), who first conclusively proved the existence of the electromagnetic waves predicted by James Clerk Maxwell's equations of electromagnetism, depicted using the radio with a bright star in the sky in the background, the GPO logo and stylised title text below. One of a series of posters published by the GPO to showcase the new telephone and telegraphy technologies. The General Post Office GPO was founded in 1660; Royal Mail was founded in 1516. Horizontal.
