Travel Poster Flying Boat Services Australia England Qantas Imperial Airways. Original vintage travel advertising poster - Regular flying boat services between Australia and England are being maintained by Qantas Empire Airways in association with Imperial Airways - featuring the Speedbird logo above the bold blue and red text within a blue and red line border. The iconic Speedbird logo was designed for Imperial Airways in 1932 by the English graphic artist Theyre Lee-Elliott (David Lee Theyre Elliott; 1903-1988) and used by BOAC and BA. Qantas Empire Airways QEA was formed in 1934 by Qantas and Imperial Airways in 1934. Founded in 1924 the British airline Imperial Airways merged into the British Overseas Airways Corporation BOAC in 1939, later merging with the British European Airways BEA to form British Airways BA in 1974. Good condition, large restored tears, restored fold, minor staining, backed on linen. Country of issue: UK, designer: Unknown, size (cm): 101x65, year of printing: 1930s.
